This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which GTA6-Mods.com collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the GTA6-Mods.com pre-registration website ("Site"). We respect the privacy of all our Users, and we comply with applicable data-protection laws regardless of where you live.

Personal identification information

We collect personal identification information from Users only when they voluntarily submit it. When you pre-register, depending on the steps you complete, we may ask for: email address, username, a password (which we never store as plaintext), an optional display name, an optional avatar image, and — if you choose to sign in via Google or Discord — your verified email and a stable identifier supplied by that provider. Users may visit the Site anonymously without registering.

Account Metadata and Security Logs

Alongside the data you actively submit, our systems automatically generate and store metadata related to your Account to provide the requested features and ensure security. This includes your account creation date ("Member since"), a running counter of your successful sign-ins ("Login count"), your current pre-registration badge eligibility, and the IP addresses used during authentication and administrative actions. We log this data strictly to prevent abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and display your account statistics on your dashboard.

Separately, our web server logs all incoming requests (including IP address, user agent, and request path) for up to 14 days for security, debugging, and abuse-prevention purposes; this processing is based on our legitimate interest under GDPR Article 6(1)(f) in maintaining a safe and functional Site, and the logs are automatically rotated and deleted thereafter.

Non-personal identification information

We may collect non-personal identification information whenever you interact with our Site. This may include browser name, the type of device, the operating system, the connection used to reach our Site, and other similar technical metadata.

Web browser cookies

Our Site uses cookies to enable essential features only. We set a signed session cookie (g6m_session) so we can recognize you across requests after you log in, and our network provider sets bot-management cookies to detect automated abuse. You may set your browser to refuse cookies; if you do, parts of the Site (in particular, signing in) may not function.

We do not set marketing, advertising, or analytics cookies, and we do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party advertising trackers.

How we use collected information

GTA6-Mods.com may use Users' personal information for the following purposes:

To run and operate our Site. We need basic account data (email, username, password hash) to keep your account working and to authenticate you across requests.
To reserve your username. Your chosen username is held for you so that it carries over to the launch platform.
To verify your email and protect your account. We send a verification email at signup and will email you for password resets if you request one.
To notify you about the launch. When the platform goes live, we will email you so you don't miss it. This is the central reason most Users pre-register.
To send periodic emails (with your consent). If you opt in to our marketing emails, we may send occasional platform updates and community news. You can opt out at any time from your dashboard.
To improve the Site. Aggregate, non-personal information helps us understand how Users interact with the Site and improve the experience.
To prevent abuse. We log authentication and administrative actions, rate-limit excessive activity, and may suspend accounts that breach our Terms.

Avatar uploads

If you upload an avatar, we re-encode the image on the server and produce a small set of fixed-size variants for fast delivery. The original-format file is discarded after re-encoding. Uploaded avatars are visible from your dashboard and (after the platform launches) on your public profile.

How we protect your information

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, and any data stored on our Site. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes and are never readable by us. Connections to the Site are encrypted with HTTPS. Administrators are required to use two-factor authentication.

Sharing your personal information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for advertising. We share information with the following service providers strictly to deliver the Site:

Resend — sends transactional emails (verification, password reset, launch announcement) and, with your consent, marketing emails on our behalf.
Cloudflare — provides content delivery, TLS termination, and protection against denial-of-service attacks; processes IP and request metadata in transit.
An infrastructure-as-a-service hosting provider — runs our application servers and database.
Google / Discord — only if you choose to sign in with one of them, in which case we receive your verified email and a stable identifier returned by the provider.

We may also disclose information when required by applicable law, court order, or to protect our rights or those of our Users.

International Data Transfers

Our Site is operated from origin servers located in the European Union (France). Your account data — including your email, username, password hash, avatar, IP addresses, and audit logs — is stored on EU infrastructure and is not transferred outside the EU for storage or processing. Cloudflare's global CDN edge network may briefly cache public, non-personal page assets (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images) close to your location, but personal data and database content remain on our EU origin. Because user data is processed within the EU, no Standard Contractual Clauses or third-country transfer safeguards are required for the operation of the Site.

Information disclosed pursuant to business transfers

Pre-registration data — including the username you reserved and your email — is collected for the purpose of being transferred to the eventual GTA6-Mods.com launch operator at launch time. Beyond that, information about our Users may be disclosed and otherwise transferred to an acquirer, successor, or assignee as part of any merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or similar transaction. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of the Site or its assets may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

Third party websites

You may find content on the Site that links to other sites and services operated by third parties (for example, our YouTube channel). We do not control the content or links that appear on those sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by them. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Site, is subject to that website's own terms and policies.

Children

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never knowingly collect or maintain information at our Site from those we know are under 13, and no part of our Site is structured to attract anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.

Your control over your data

Every User, regardless of where they live, has meaningful control over their data on our Site:

Update your email preferences and review your account information from your dashboard.
Change your password at any time.
Delete your account at any time via Settings → Danger zone → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and removes your account row, preferences, OAuth links, and uploaded avatar from our systems within a single transaction. Your username becomes available for re-registration. Please note that while your active account data is erased immediately, automated security logs (such as IP addresses associated with login attempts) may be retained in our system logs for up to 90 days solely for security, debugging, and abuse-prevention purposes before being automatically anonymized.
For any other inquiry about your data — including a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or a request to correct, restrict, or stop processing it — contact us at [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.

Rights of Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and similar jurisdictions

If you live in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another jurisdiction whose law grants similar data-protection rights, you have additional rights under that law in addition to the controls described above:

Access — you have the right to a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Rectification — you have the right to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — you may delete your account directly from your dashboard at any time, which performs an immediate, complete erasure.
Restriction of processing — you may ask us to limit how we process your data while a question about it is being resolved.
Data portability — you have the right to receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
Objection — you may object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests.
Withdraw consent — for processing based on your consent (such as marketing emails or closed-beta opt-in), you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing already carried out.
Lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in your country of residence if you believe we have not handled your data correctly.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

GTA6-Mods.com has the discretion to update this Privacy Policy at any time. When we do, we will post a notification on our Site and (where the change is material) notify registered Users by email. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this Privacy Policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

Your acceptance of these terms

By using this Site, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use the Site. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
